Raychel-isms

I can't publish a new post without a picture of some kind. These are a couple of my favorites. This was the first day we brought Anna home from the NICU. Notice how Raychel is gently "petting" Anna's head. In this picture she was saying "shh shh baby." She was very interested. It was very sweet.
Fast forward two weeks. It is now Leah's turn to come home. Raychel could care less. She refuses to touch Leah. She refuses to look at the camera. She just buries her head in her hands like "Another baby?! Are you kidding me right now?!"

*Disclaimer* This post was going to include two adorable pictures of Anna and Leah trying corn on the cob. Unfortunately, I was making the ugliest face, so I will spare you, my friends, the disgust. Seriously, does anyone else make faces when your kids are eating? It's like that part in Incredibles where the mom is making those "eating" faces to the baby. The kids are like "you're doing it again, mom!" You just can't help it! HA HA!

Today is a great day. Why, you ask. I'll tell you. It's a great day because my kids actually ate! It's so crazy to me how my kids eating (or not eating) can totally effect my mood. We went out to lunch at Chili's (Raychel's choice). Leah ate the chips and salsa...minus the chips. She lapped that salsa like it was the best tasting soup ever. Anna ate some potato soup. Then Raychel ate a chicken finger AND half of a "Daddy Sandwich." For those of you unfamiliar with a "Daddy Sandwich" it's called a grilled cheese to the rest of the world. I guess she thinks that is her Daddy's favorite? Who knows. So the girls left Chili's with round, full bellies. I left Chili's with potato soup all over my shirt, salsa on my glasses, grease wiped on my pants, and a BIG smile on my face knowing my girls ate so well!

Also Raychel told me today as we were driving "Mom, I think we need to get my Daddy a new Bar-B-Cool." Grant came along with us today too. Raychel cannot handle being told what to do by Grant. She thinks she is older than him, and SHE is the boss! Today Grant said "Shhh!" to her. Big mistake. She whirls around to him and says "Ga-Rant!! Do NOT shhhh me!" Little girl. Big attitude.
Also, as I was looking at these pictures, this song came to my mind. I love the part where he says "trust me, friend, a hundred years goes faster than you think, so don't blink." So true!

That must have been a lot for a 17 month old to take... 2 new babies!
I make faces and move my jaw around when I brush Jake's teeth! I'm sure the picture of you is just fine, I want to see.
I'm happy your girls ate so well. Salsa for a two-year old is quite impressive!

I'll do some new posts tonight.

Ok, comments:

First off, ADORABLE back-of-the-hair on the day you brought Anna home. It looks perfect. Second, HILARIOUS pic of Raychel on Leah's coming-home day. That is so funny! I am totally laughing. That poor kid really had to learn to share Mommy. ;o)

I was just about to post how our day has been horrible because no one ate. I am glad you had a successful day. You are so funny describing your appearance after lunch. You should see what I look like today... yikes.

Oh yes, and we HAVE to see the ugly eating face. Now that you've mentioned it, you have to post it. We all want to see what the heck an ugly Alison face would look like.

Finally, LOVE the song. Its one of my favorites too.
