Well, I've officially gotten "the memo". It's tough getting old. It sneaks up on you. Yesterday, we were supposed to go enjoy a day at the lake, but it was only going to be in the low 70's. That's a little chilly even for me, and I don't even get wet. James was home, so we decided to go on a hike.
I remember going on this particular hike as a 15/16 year old. Of course, all I remember was how gorgeous the lake was at the end...not the fact that it was 5 miles uphill. As we were walking along, James says, "Is this how you remember this hike?" I replied, "I don't remember sucking air like this. I don't remember these beads of sweat dripping down my face. I don't remember working this hard." We both laughed about that.
I was SO proud of my girls. They made it the whole way without any complaining. Even though the hike was a little more physically draining than it was 20 years ago, it was definitely more rewarding being with my family.
Love my Nevada blue skies.
We need to work on our peeing outdoors technique.
A PB&J never tasted so good...nor did a hard rock feel so good to sit on.

This makes me smile! I tried to play hop-scotch with Sam yesterday. I could NOT hop! I was totally baffled because hop-scotch USED to BE so easy! What's up with that?!
Beautiful scenery with a beautiful family!
Great post - and what a great activity with your family. Good for you! BTW - I got the "old and fat" memo that week as well - with gusto and exclamation points!
Loved the blog on the "jerk store" as well. I know you'll be ready for those noobs if they show up again. Good ol' Nana - always knows how to lighten the mood.
