American Beauty

All holidays are more fun with festive nails! These are Raychel's "golden Jasmine flip flops".
"Pose, Raych!"
Miss. Anna

We purchased a flag this year! I felt so patriotic with our flag waving proudly on Independence Day.

Leah. I'm not much of one for having just the twins wearing matching attire. However, this year, that seemed to be my only option. Wal-Mart only had three of these dresses left. Two in a size 6, and one in a size 8. I took it as a sign I should buy them. Haha!

My American Beauties.
Not a flattering photo of me, I know. This was my caramel popcorn making debut. I had to get a picture of myself using my spiffy green colander. Raychel was catching the kernels as they fell out.
The finished product. Verdict: I think I popped too much popcorn. It was a little dry for my liking. Definitely an easy fix.
Even though it was a bit on the dry side, I got the "thumbs up" from GG. She's a tough critic, so I accepted the compliment graciously.
For Family Home Evening we talked about our freedom, Captain Moroni, and the Title of Liberty. The girls each colored their very own flags. Yes, that is Raychel's own can of Diet Coke. We've started the long process of orthodontic work with her. She wasn't able to eat any of the sticky, chewy popcorn. I had to make up for it somehow! Later when it got dark, we watched fireworks on the trampoline in the backyard. They are usually a bit...boring. In my opinion, the city needs to shoot them off fast. I'd rather have 5 minutes of amazing than 30 minutes of drawn out "blah". Leah kept saying, "OK, dis over now?" Overall, they loved it. I hope you enjoyed the day as well!

Yesterday at church Jocelyn turned to me & said, "Mommy!! You forgot to paint my nails in a pattern!!" (after seeing your girls' nails) So - we just got back from Target with 2 bottles of pretty red & blue glittery nail polish! LOL I'm such a boy mom, I never think of that stuff!

I'm going to have to get used to all that girly stuff! You'll have to come down here for a 4th of July and we'll set off our own fireworks. The girls would love that! Miss you tons!!
