The Thankful Diaries

You inspired me, Cecilee. Last year, my friend made a countdown to Thanksgiving by listing something she was thankful for each day. I love that idea. It's so refreshing to sit back and think about all of my blessings that I enjoy. Some of you will probably find this extremely boring to read about, so just skip checking up on my for the month! Haha! I'm a day behind, so I'll combine this entry.

November 1. This month, all of our family home evening lessons will focus on "gratitude" and expressing thanks. Last night we made a "quilt" of all the things we are thankful for. The girls picked all of the items, and I thought some of their answers were quite creative. Anna said she was thankful for "my head" and purses. Gotta have a head! Leah is thankful for katsup (I'm thinking that is a Roylance trait. All food must be dipped in katsup). and soup. Raychel is thankful for Jesus and Jade.

November 2. Today I am thankful for leftover Halloween Reece's peanut butter cups. There is something so satisfying about the chocolate/peanut butter combination. It's the simple pleasures.

PS I never said these entries were going to be "deep". Mainly random!

Its not boring at all. What a great idea. We do something a little similar but different. We make a big Turkey for the wall and each day we add a feather to it and on that feather we write down something we are thankful for in that day. i agree this is an important time of the year to reflect on all that we are given and blessed with in our lives.

I am looking forward to your gratitude posts. Of course I am not (and won't) be bored. That's what I love about you. We both like the mundane details of life.
