Am I...

Me: Ok, girls! Look at Mom! Everyone smile!
Girls: CHEEEEEESE!

Me: Ok, Leah, up here! Look at Mom!

Me: You. Guys. Look at my camera!

Me: GIRLS! Camera!

Me: Ok, fine. Good enough.

Leah as the sassy "bu-fly"

Anna as the "titty"
Raychel as Little Red Riding Hood (Tammy made the costume...so cute!)
Me: One more time! Look at the camera and SMILE! Ah, whatever...
Seriously. I think I am the only human on the planet that hates this stupid "holiday" of Halloween. I just think it is so dumb! I know many of you will probably disown me as a friend because I just revealed this secret. But, alas, it's true. I don't like the scary/evil/bloody garbage associated with this day. I don't like the idea of my kids knocking on strangers doors asking for candy. I don't like complete strangers knocking on MY door asking for candy. It's just pointless. BUT since I am a mom, I need to pretend...just a little...that I like it. The girls chose their own costumes this year. No input from mom. I think they all look pretty dang cute, myself. Most importantly, they all felt cute. We went and trick-or-treated around the neighborhood, and after about the 10th house, Raychel was all, "Ok, I'm done now." To which I replied, "Ok, let's go check out your candy!" My mom also told me that the day of the school Halloween party, Raychel was sitting in the Library Corner reading while the teacher and the rest of the class carved a pumpkin...(sniff, sniff) I'm so proud; that's my girl. I can see the wheels turning in her little head: "Well, that's dumb thing to do." Ha ha! After our incident last year, I seriously limited the candy intake. Shockingly, I didn't feel like cleaning sour, candy bar puke at 4 am. Hope all you Halloween lovers had a GREAT time!
PS...HAD to use this song. When we went over to my parents house all dressed up, my dad started belting out this song and singing it to Raychel. She's looking at him like "Wow. Seriously?" HAHAHAHA!

You are not alone Ali. I HATE Halloween. For the same reasons as you. Hate it so much I tried to bribe my kids to go out of town this year. They were okay with it, but we relented.

I hate halloween too. I love how your girls won't look at the camera?

haha you crack me up. I feel the same way, I used to love Halloween, but I am so over it and I don't even have kids. Loved their costumes though. The "titty" turned out perfect!

Sorry. I love Halloween.... though I can see your point about not liking it. I honestly don't like people knocking on my door all night either. We only trick or treat to our neighbors and I sit there and visit with them while my kids beg me to "Hurry up. Stop talking."

I have never heard that song before but I can totally picture your Dad singing it. I miss you guys!!!!
