The first time I met my Lee Lee girl.
Sweet little Leah. She was the first born of the twins. I remember she was my "ideal" in the birthing experience. I heard her cry! I remember thinking "ok that is a good sound!" Nurse Stacey wrapped her up and brought her over by my face for me to see her. What a beautiful little baby! She had this tiny little red face and a cute button nose. I gave her a kiss and said "Ohhhh! She's SO cute!" She went to the NICU for further monitoring.
Leah became very sick at about a week old. I got a call from her nurse telling me they thought she had NEC, and she was very fragile. After lots more tests, it was discovered she had MRSA. She had to get a spinal to make sure it hadn't spread into her spinal fluid. That was so hard watching them stick that needle in my baby's back! Once it was known why she was sick, they immediately put both twins in isolation and started Leah on heavy duty antibiotics. Then a few days later, I got sick. I had that dang MRSA too! I was put back in the hospital to get the same meds Leah was taking. It was such a frustrating time! The day I was released from the hospital (the second time around) was the day Anna got to come home too. Leah had to stay another 2 weeks to clear up the infection and get her reflux under control.
Leah at two is such a sweetheart! She is sensitive and kind. She loves her Papa more than anyone else in the world! Leah will be your best friend for life if you cuddle with her. We love our little Leah girl!
PS I love this first picture because she looks so comfortable being able to spread out!
