Isn't that a beautiful yellow MRSA jacket? Anna's face is so cute. You can see her little attitude coming out.
Sweet little Anna. She's my "baby." Because of my pre-eclampsia, I had to deliver the twins earlier than expected. Because of the blood pressure/mag sulfate combo, I developed a terrible migraine the night before I delivered. At 5 AM the nurse gave me a hefty shot of Demerol. Good for the headache. Bad for forming thoughts. One thing I do remember is the doctors had a lot of trouble getting Anna out. At one point I remember looking up and seeing Dr. Cantrell and Dr. Gloeb standing on chairs and pushing on my belly with super hero force. They finally pushed her out, and I heard this teeny tiny whimper. Anna was in an isolet, so they just wheeled her by me really quick. Because of the Demerol/mag sulfate, the twins were pretty "floppy" and unresponsive. They spent some time in the NICU with all of our dear friends we met during our stay with Raychel. I was so relieved that they both cried, and I was even happier when I learned that Anna was a whopping 5 pounds 15 and a half ounces! I asked James what the girls looked like, and he said "They look like little Roylances. They have lots of spikey, dark hair."
I didn't get to see my girls until the next day when some of my meds had worn off and I could hold my head up...literally. Anna was the first baby I held, and I was so overwhelmed with emotion. She was beautiful and perfect. It was my first experience holding my newborn baby. She had a canula, so she looked like a "normal" baby to me. :-)
Anna at two is full of spirit. She has a definite opinion about fashion. She likes her shoes and hair pretties. She loves her daddy, and sharing cheeseburgers from McDonald's with him. We love our Anna!

Love my Anna! I love her fashion sense and attitude :) Think she would give me lessons? :)
She's so adorable. What an experience. I hope you don't have to do that again.
Dr. Cantrell delivered Jake, too.
