My husband is hilarious. That is one of his most endearing personality traits. He's dry, sarcastic, and witty. When he hatched this April Fool's plan, I thought it was nothing short of genius. I think what made it even funnier was the fact that just the thought of it was cracking him up to the point of tears.
Setting the scene: He purchased a BabyRuth candy bar on his way home from work. He microwaved it for about 15 seconds, made a "skidmark" in the bathtub with the melted chocolate, and placed it where it would be the first thing the girls saw when they opened the shower curtain. I was at Enrichment night, so James is texting me the the hysterical outcome.
These are snippets from our conversation...
"This is going to be CLASSIC. I microwaved the BabyRuth for a bit and the tub has skidmarks and everything. They said they already had some April Fool's, so we'll see if they know what's up...no screaming, but they TOTALLY bought it...They come marching up here in the nude, 'EWWW somebody pooped in the shower!!' I said, 'Which one of you pooped?!' 'None of us, Dad, we promise!' A new tradition starts in the Roylance home as of 2014! I picked it up and smelled it. They just stood there wide eyed. Couldn't believe I picked it up with my bare hand. Then I did the Caddyshack thing and took a bite. Then I said 'April Fools'...Yeah, I have to admit, the skidmarks made it look even better. Raychel was all serious and proud, 'Wow, dad, that really looked just like poop, good job!'"
I was laughing so hard, I couldn't even catch my breath. I said, "WHY is this so funny to me?" He says, "For the record, I'm laughing so hard, I'm crying." These are the best moments!

That is so funny. They were still talking about it this morning. I was totally laughing about it when they were telling me about it, even Raychel was giggling!! Great prank dad!!
