Act of Service

First of all, I must say that I am SO PROUD of these girls!  We had a very special party at our house today.  A hair cutting party!  Raychel and her BFF, Brookie have been growing their hair out for THREE years with the goal to donate it.  After lots of tangles, pony tails, braids and "fun" hair-dos, we reached our goal!  I'm not a long hair girl...at all.  However, it was a little emotional for me today being a part of this milestone for these girls.  At our luncheon, we talked about how cute hair makes us feel good about ourselves.  We talked about women (and girls their age) who get sick, and lose their hair.  Wouldn't it be terrible to feel bad AND have no hair??  They all enthusiastically agreed.  Having a special wig made from their hair was going to help a woman or girl in need.  My mom talked about a teacher she works with who is suffering from cancer.  The teacher told my mom she was so thankful to the person(s) who donated their hair, so she could have a wig.  After our talk, the girls were really excited to get started!  Thank you to my friend, Alyssa for taking pictures!  This HAD to be properly photographed!

Ellie was the first AND the youngest!

 There is goes!

I love this picture with Anna and Leah checking it out!  They are such sweet sisters!
I don't know why these got out of order...this is obviously the "after".
 Surprised but happy!
Brookie had more hair than all 3 girls combined!  I needed my pruning shears to cut that pony tail off!
 CUTE GIRLS!
Brookie was over all the photos.

 Look at those long locks!

 Selfless, sweet and wonderful girls!

I LOVE the look of proud satisfaction on Raychel's face when she's first looking in the mirror. Beautiful work, ladies!
