Eight is GREAT!

WOW!  What a week of celebrating!  I tend to make a birthday stretch for a couple of days.  There's just too much good stuff to shove in to one day!  We started the party with our traditional Sunday evening family dinner.  Raychel chose tomato soup, grilled cheese, and spice cake.  We decided to do presents that night too.
Here she is receiving real perfume from May...Selena Gomez

 LOTS of Monster High goodies!

September 24 was on a Monday.  She wanted to take Brookie and Nate to her favorite restaurant for her favorite enchiladas.  We had to get a fancy drink in a glass bottle.
Raychel's other request was to have a red dress like the Spanish dancers wear for her "fiesta".  Good thing it was close to Halloween, so I had no trouble finding a red dress for my Senorita!

 Pinata time!

Eight is a special age for members of our church.  It's the age when you are baptized.
Raychel wore the same dress I was baptized in.  My Grandma made it for me, and it was so special to see Raychel wearing it.  I know GG was proud.
 My Dad and me: 1987

It was a spiritual day for our family!  Anna and Leah sang "I'm Trying to be Like Jesus", they were so sweet.  Uncle Grant gave a fantastic talk, and Nana and Grandma gave the prayers.  It's nice living where we do because Raychel didn't have to share the day with anyone else.  It was planned just for her.

 My homegirl.
The family...Amanda made a surprise visit too!  It was great to meet Nick and have the cousins play together.
 Puzzles with Grandma.
 Story time with Grandpa.

That was such a fun birthday week and adding the baptism at the end of it was an amazing day. I can't believe she's eight. It has been a very good but emotional ride, and wouldn't trade it for anything. She brightens up everyday. Being eight is GREAT!!!
