Spring Break 2012

This year, we decided to take the girls to California for spring break. James's brother lives in Salinas, so we thought we'd travel to his neck of the woods. It was a beautiful drive with orchards and fields of green crops. There are A LOT of pictures documenting our time together...
And we're off! You can't travel without a neck pillow.
Showing off the hotel room...here's the kitchen.
Complete with silverware!
Anna had to show off the toilet.
This is Dean and Kelly's dog, Spike. He was a sweet "chee-wowa". Anna was never far from his side.
Egg hunt with our California cousins!

My favorite grumpy ol' troll.

I needed to get a picture of these sandals. Raychel had to have them! We went shopping a while back for Easter dresses, and she only had eyes for these shoes. No opinion on a dress, just the shoes.

Look at this sassy little thing. She was controlling the remote.
When I asked everyone what their favorite part of the trip was, they all said, "swimming at the hotel."

Gross story...so Leah woke up at 2 AM this very night, and threw up everywhere. We think she accidentally ingested too much pool water and it made her sick. The "good news" was there was absolutely no odor to the puke. It was like all the chemicals had disinfected the vomit. Just an interesting tid-bit. haha!!
After church on Easter Sunday, we drove to Carmel to check out the beach.

Egg hunt at the hotel room.

This picture looked JUST LIKE my favorite person...Nana. If this picture had a caption, it would read, "Oh, for hell's sake, I spilled this all over me!" As stated by Nana on many occasions.
Raychel went wild and ate chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. What's next?? Chocolate ice cream?!
Monday we went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Raychel was in heaven!

Cousins: Kassidy, Carson and Isaac
Here's my sassy girl. She was bitter we had to sit and listen to the penguin spiel.

Waiting for the sting rays to pass by.
Raychel would have stayed here all day touching sea creatures.

Souvenirs bought and ready to go home!

And now we know the trick for non-smelly vomit. Have them swallow chemicals :)

It looks like you had so much fun! Great pictures! Your girls are getting so old! I can't believe how different they look, especially Raychel! What a pretty young lady. Love the adorable haircuts on the twins and of course you always find the cutest clothes!! How I wish our girls could be together and be friends.

i love your comment about the pool being the favorite thing on the troop-when the girls were small we went on a family trip to Europe to celebrate my father's 75th birthday. we spent most of the time in England but also some time in Italy with my brother. So we take the kids to one of the greatest cities in the world, Rome, and all they can remember about rome is the swimming pool at the hotel!
