Christmas Eve Festivities

I personally think I enjoy Christmas Eve more than Christmas day. This day fells full of tradition for me (you can click here to read about some of my traditions). This year we went and visited G.G.'s grave and gave her some fresh flowers.

Family photo using the timer and tri-pod. I like this picture better because my double chin isn't showing (haha!) and Jade is joining us.
But I like this picture better because James and I actually look like we like each other.
Here's my dad working on his prime rib masterpiece. Yes, those are real pliers he's using to break the crust/outer shell off the hunk of meat.
May I just say this is a scene I have never in my life witnessed...it's like I spotted Sasquatch or something. I need to send these photos to "Ripley's Believe it or Not". Brace yourself, the men are working in the kitchen...
...while the women are sitting relaxing by the fire. Yes, I know. Try and catch your breath.
Of course, I say that kidding! Our men just aren't the "kitchen types".
Our friends, the Rowley's joined us this year. This is their oldest, Brindley. Leah and Lexie have become the best of friends. Sadly, they have moved, so we needed to spend as much time with them as possible!
Anna, olive hands
Leah, checking for Santa
Santa graced us with a visit. He brought Raychel a dog paw necklace she had been wanting. She was so pleased that Santa remembered.

The whole gang!
Traditional Christmas Eve jammies. Then James and I watch National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. It isn't quite Christmas until we've watched that!
