I must say that I love my mom for a lot of reasons. One of the reasons I love her is because she always is in the mood for "something different." She called me a few days ago and said, "Why don't we go to the zoo on Thursday. You know...for something different." Great idea! It was the most perfect day in Sacramento. It didn't get above 90 until we were ready to leave. I know that for a fact because my latest obsession is checking the weather constantly on my phone (there's an ap for that). Anyway, we slowly got out of bed this morning and were on the road by 8 (Which in Roylance girl time, that's like 4 AM. School will be such a drag...literally...come the fall).
The big, independent first graders decided they would venture over to the snack bar without the ball and chain (me) cramping their style. Of course I had to lurk in the trees to make sure the transaction went smoothly.
"Yes, hi, snack bar guy, we'd like to purchase some of this delicious cotton candy."
"Deal."
Thank goodness for tall friends.
"Thanks, Brookie, I'll handle the finances."
"I'm hot, sticky, sweet."

Riding on the "Carres-Wheel" as Leah called it.

Blurry, but still cute.

Oh, these two. They are WILD together. What one doesn't think of, the other will. It's usually mischievous and involves running away from me. I sometimes worry if I made the right decision to split them up next year at school because they are the best of friends. Then James reminds me, "Ali you want the teachers to like them." HAHAHA!! Just meaning they are a bit more manageable when they aren't together.
But how can you look at those faces and not smile right along with them!
Paparazzi: Gimme a wave boys!

Mother and Daughter. You can tell we're related because of our perfectly formed and sculpted eyebrows, right mom?
Princess #2
Had to use this song because it always reminds me of summer and road trips (and aqua net).
