"Sissies"

Today we ventured to Wild Island. It was a fantastic day! My girls had a blast. I must say, I haven't seen that much "leatha" (and I ain't talkin' cow hide) in my life. I enjoyed the sun with SPF 50 slathered all over me. I came to terms with my pasty, white skin today. I may be translucent, but I don't look like an old, worn out purse. From now on, I am gonna "embrace the paste!"
Anyway, I decided to title this entry "sissies" because that's how my girls always refer to each other. Also, I found myself being a big, fat sissy watching my babies interact with each other. It's really tender to see them truly and deeply care about one another. Raychel, my mother hen, never left Anna or Leah behind. She sweetly waited for them at the bottom of the slides, held their hands, and constantly reassured them, "Don't worry, your sissy is here." Yes, that's when I melted. Love is such a powerful emotion, and how lucky am I that I get to experience it on this level. What a blessing!
When we first arrived, I was very nervous and hesitant to take out my camera. Heaven forbid the thing get wet! However, I just attached my "paparazzi" lense and I was good to go from the comfort of my lawn chair.

Some nice old man from "Bastan" (Boston) offered to take our picture. At first I declined, but then I thought, "Yes, Ali, you need to have a picture!" As I was walking back in to the water, Anna slipped and scraped her elbows. He obviously took a picture of me trying to make it better. I thought that was very nice of him.
The Gang
I swear, I did NOT make them pose for any of these pictures. They just naturally stick together.

Poor Anna. She always has one cheek hanging out. :-)

I love how their faces are like, "Oh, crap!"

Our adopted sissy, Brookie
Carter and his girlfriend...heehee. (I love the matching water droplets on their chins)

How is it for a mom, all by herself, with a herd of little ones? Are your girls good swimmers? Were you able to relax & enjoy or did you feel like you had to hover the whole time? My kids aren't swimmers yet so it makes me so nervous!!! Looks like they had a great time, though!
