The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

James, a while back, had mentioned that we should cut down our own tree for Christmas. Raychel latched on to that idea and did not let go. This is her interpretation of our tree cutting experience (painted about a month ago at school). No, we didn't get our tree from McDonald's. Haha!

The morning begins with some of Papa's famous carmel popcorn. Yeah, it was 8 in the morning, but who cares.

I love Raychel's face. She spotted my mom and couldn't help but SMILE. We left the house with bed head. I knew we were going to have "hat head" soon enough. Why bother with the brush?

Anna is all ready!

Nana and her fan club. Raychel is founder and president. Mom is "rockin" the Heifey hat.

Leah thinks she needs to be in ever picture. She was grabbing Steven's leg saying, "CHEESE!"

Cute couple alert!

A girl and her dog...or "dawg" as dad says. Jade had the time of her life. I can tell she is becoming an old lady because she hasn't moved since we got home. One continual nap.

Daddy and his ladies. The highlight of the trip for Anna and Leah: riding in the back of Papa's truck.

Dad is squeezing Anna going, "I need me some Anna Boo." I know you will get it, Amanda. :-)

My ladies and me. Hat: courtesy of Grant.

Making snowballs was lots of fun!
Here's some words of advice from Ali...do not wear Croc boots to hike in. Bad choice. NO traction whatsoever. I will admit, I wasn't planning on doing any "real" hiking. This is James and me in front of our tree. We had to hike up a really steep slope, so we left the girls at the bottom with my mom.

Yes, it was really that steep.
I love my mountain man.

The Brewers and their tree. Of course, my girls had to join the photo op.

Our lovely tree. The first year of a great tradition. Man, I look like such a nerd! Side note: I wasn't trying to look cool.
One works up an appetite throwing snowballs and riding in the back of Papa's truck. Donuts with pink frosting are a great way to replenish the body.
A beautiful combination: Bed head mixed with some sweaty hat head.
The finished product. We decided to go with colored lights this year. Reminds me of my childhood.

How fun! Did you ever go on our tree cutting trips? I remember you went on the one when our tire blew out. Haha! Then there was the one when we cut down an illegal tree. Or the time Dad picked one over a stream and way up the mountain. Yes. Serioulsy. What a fun tradition to begin with your little family. Great memories in the making :)
