So here's the rundown of yesterday...
5:15 Wake up. Get ready.
6:00 Wake up Raychel
6:15 Drive to Washoe Med (Renown if you will. You can't dress up that hospital with a new name!) To catch you up...Raychel's button site has never healed, so we had to get it stitched it up surgically.
7:15 Check in and get to our room. They inform me that The surgery has been pushed to 12:15. I was told 9:30 originally. So I am stuck in a tiny room with a starving 4 year old and NO TV. I have 5 hours to try and entertain my girl.
10:15 I beg the nurse for a TV. She was completely put out by that request. Hello.
10:30 A different (and very nice) nurse comes in with a TV and three movies.
10:32 Watching Aladdin
11:45 Dr. Hulka is running early, thank goodness!
11:50 Raychel is in surgery
12:15 Surgery is over. I go back to recovery where Raychel is alert and "wants to go home." She has these two adorable Asian nurses who are doting on her and waiting on her every need. They tell me I have a "Swee lil an-gel." Thank you, I know. :-)
12:30 We get to our room, and Raychel continues to ask to go home.
12:50 We're on our way home.
12:56 Raychel starts barfing as I'm driving 70 MPH. LOVE my girl. She totally got all the barf in the bag from the hospital. That deserves a gold star award!
1:30 Arrive home. Apparently Raychel forgot she had surgery on her stomach. She is running all over the house, swinging on the swing on her stomach, jumping rope, etc.
7:30 Time for baths and bed!
7:34 I'm helping Raychel take off her pants. She loses her balance and slams into the side of the tub. I pick her up and rock her back and forth. I know that hurt! All of a sudden I'm like, "Why is my chin wet?" Blood galore. I apply pressure, take a look at the wound.
7:36 Driving to the ER
7:38 Arrive (James turned into Mario Andretti when he got behind the wheel of the mini-van.)
7:40 We're told the ER is very busy and there will be a long wait. We're directed to the waiting area. This is the scene: 47 Mexican families (or Latin Americans to be PC) are in the waiting room wearing masks. I can't help but feel the anxiety rise.
7:56 I make James tell the reception area that we need to get Raychel taken care of. She has just had surgery, her head is still bleeding, and we need some assistance NOW! James hates doing stuff like that, but he did it anyway. I'm so glad he handled it because my patience well was drying up...and fast. We're told to go right back.
8:07 Stitches begin. Raychel was SO TOUGH! Man, my girl is so awesome! I love her to death.
8:39 Checked out and on our way home with 7 stitches.
Midnight My adrenaline rush has worn off, and I go to bed.
Silly surgery hat. *Pics are from my cell phone*
The damage. Gaping gash from a run-in with the bath tub. Bath tub won. I took a picture of this and showed Raychel. She was so enthralled with the cut. She didn't seem to be bothered by it in the least.
Stitched up and ready to go home.

I asked Raychel what her favorite song was for this post. She told me "Ham-a-nah Montana"

Wow! What a day. That was a pretty good cut. Glad all turned out!
That is a bad day for sure wow I can't believe all that happened in one day you deserve something great for mothers day for going through all that and way to go Raychel so brave amazing.
Poor Raych! What a tough little girl! And a tuff mama :) I'm totally laughing about James behind the wheel :) Ha ha ha!
crazy day! that girl is quite a trooper! shes had one heck of a roller coaster ride!
Holy cow when she does it she does it right! Poor little girl. Like always you and raychel stayed strong and make it through. You both are tough cookies. Did you even have time to eat during that day. From the looks you were on super Mommy mode. glad shes doing well and you have a wonderful husband to be the source of strength and force you needed to get through the day. You have a beautiful family, and lots of interesting memories to add along the way.
My sweet little Ruby Roo Roo is so tough. She must get it from her mama!!!
You forgot to say that when you told Raych to stop swinging on her stomach she goes, "Why mom?!"
Glad things turned out okay last night. Sweet girl!!
By the way...it's "Ham-a-na-tana" :)
You beat my nightmare day for sure!! Glad Raychel is doing better and hopefully you can get some moments of peace this weekend. Yeah for supportive husbands, I had one of those the last couple days too!!
I am so sorry about your day! That sounds so insane.... and I was just thinking what a bad day I'VE had. Well, it doesn't really compare. Thanks for keeping things in perspective for me. ;o)
I am amazed at Raychel's personality and how well she handles all that stuff. Jenna slammed her finger in the car door yesterday and you would have thought her leg got cut off. I just kept thinking, "What would we do if something really serious ever happened?" Atleast your bad day was tamed a little by Raychel's good attitude and high pain tolerance.
Wow, what a day?! What a mom to handle it all. That cut was pretty intense. I am glad the day is over for you.
I was feeling bad for you and Raychel at the no TV and no food part then you had to throw in the ER visit too!! That does deserve an award!!
Holy Crap, I didnt know about the surgery part. What a day. You should be free and clear of days like that for a long time. I am glad she ok, stupid bath tub.
Alison I love you blog. I debated using the exact same background. I love brown!! You sure had a day!!! Crazy...hope Raychel is feeling better. You need to sit back and put your feet up for a while :)
