Pierced

Anna waiting. Yes, she is serious about that gold mardi gras necklace. HAD to wear it.No more tears. Yup, heartless mom. Look how worried Leah is, and I'm sitting there yawning. HA HA! We didn't get an "after" shot of Leah. I will definitely get one!

So Anna has been wanting to get her ears pierced lately. My philosophy has always been, "When they ask for them, we will get them." So after a lunch date at Chili's (something that is becoming a family tradition...lunch together on Saturday), we drove out to Claire's. Anna picked pink earrings. She cried for a total of 6 seconds. The moment I showed her the earrings in the mirror, she instantly stopped crying and flashed a huge smile. There were two girls there and they were SO fast! It went so smoothly.
Leah had a meltdown. I think she cried harder than Anna...my Professional Sweetheart. I said, "Leah do you want to get your ears pierced?" Of course she was like, "NO!" After some gentle persuading, she settled on some white diamonds. I coaxed her a little because I knew that once we got home, she would be so sad that she didn't have any earrings. It was the same experience with her...fast and flawless. A few seconds of crying, then a huge smile.

Tonight after baths, I told them we had to put the medicine on their ears. They both covered their ears and said "No take them out Mama!" They love feeling so pretty!

We have been lucky enough to have Nana at every piercing! Also, May has gotten Anna and Leah totally into Kanye West. They love this song. Plus I always feel a little "heartless" when it comes to piercing ears. I don't feel the slightest bit bad. :-) Click on "Raychel" to remember her piercing experience!

They look so grown up with their earrings!

Woah...you're quite the professional blogger with the internal links to past blogs! I'm impressed!

I'm so glad that they love Kanye! I knew I'd convert them despite Dad :)

I cannot believe you pierced their ears!! I can't believe they were so brave about it either. How did the sleeping and cleaning go?
