So Raychel has started a love affair with vanilla ice cream. We only know this because Nana gives in to every one of Raychel's requests at the store. The other day, she requested vanilla ice cream, and of course she got it. Since last Thursday, she has eaten (almost) an entire gallon! Some people might think I'm crazy to get so excited over my child eating a fattening, creamy, sugary treat, but this is Raychel we're talking about! The girl never gets excited about any food. It makes us all happy to see her enjoy eating something...anything! I have also set up a bribe system. She can't have any ice cream until she eats one of her "staples" first: grilled cheese sandwich, PB&J, cheese sticks, pepperoni, or toast (seriously, those are the only foods she will eat). If she eats one of those items first, she can have all the ice cream she wants. It is working well so far. At this rate, she may be moving out of the 2nd percentile. Thank you Nana! :-)

Wow! Congratulations!! It's only taken 4 years to discover something she loves. ;o) She must be my kind of girl. I have ALWAYS loved ice cream. Not necessarily vanilla, but hey, its a common bond we can share. Thank heaven for Nanas!!
Good work Nana! To bad we couldn't give her some of her cousin's appetite. Petey never stops eating! We need to get together! I was thinking I'd like to come down for a haircut/play date sometime next week?
I'm glad she's found something with FAT and calcium. You gotta take what you can get with a picky kid... that's for sure.
