So I have a confession...I love TV! My favorite time of the day is around 9:30 PM. Kids are in bed, house is picked up, jammies are on, good TV starts, and my nightly texting date with Amanda commences. Actually, Amanda is to blame for my current addiction. You might be asking yourself, "Who is that chubby, bald guy you posted?" Why, it's Andrew Zimmern, host of Bizarre Foods on the Travel channel. It's actually kinda twisted how much I like this show. This guy is a chef and a writer. He travels the world mingling with the locals and eating some of the local cuisine. We're talking stuff like pig brain, chitlins, bugs, basically anything repulsive. James says it reminds him of Fear Factor. It's different though because apparently these foods are true delicacies in these locations. They are often time prepared in fancy restaurants by talented chefs. I just cringe everytime he takes a huge (and I mean huge) bite of a spleen sandwich or tarantula abdomen. It's one of those weird obsessions I can't explain. At least Amanda gets it, right? You must tune in. I guarantee you will love it!
My other favorite is on the food network. Do NOT watch this show if you are hungry. Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives...mmm...as Raychel would say, my stomach is "cracking" just thinking about it! By the way, "cracking" is another term for a growling stomach. This guy is lucky enough to go gallivanting across the US sampling all sorts of yummy diner food. Greasy burgers, homemade breakfasts, fries, special sauces, you name it. I can't get enough! I must ask these two simple questions: Is he serious about the ginormous bites of food he shoves in his face? AND How in the world did he get lucky enough to land that gig? I want a piece of that!

OH MY GOSH!!!! I so love our Andrew dates!!! I'm so glad I have someone to watch it with now! It makes Jeff sick. He can't stand it :) I'm so glad I have you for a sister and that we can enjoy our "stories" together!
Nice "stories"...I had no idea I had two black sisters! hahaha
And I love the girls' lingo. Like Raychel's "cracking" stomach and Leah and Anna's "dood" things
I have to remember the cracking stomach. I like it.
I Love Diner's Drive-in's, and Dives too. I had to stop watching the food network though because all I wanted to do was eat and cook food all the time, especially at night when the kids went to bed. So now we are watching The Office re-runs to get ready for Thursday! Can't wait!
Ali! I am strangely attracted to Andrew Zimmer, I love this show too! I am a faithful watcher of it. I love what he wears and the way he explains the food. I am so glad that you and Amanda enjoy it too. Everyone I tell think its disgusting. Yay for the travel channel.
Linds-
Join us for the show!
thanks for your sweet comment on the FHE SPOT... this is why I keep doing it
I have 3 girls too!! cute blog
Isnt it funny that no matter how long or how tired you are by the end of the day your late night shows seems to always wake you up and give you a new burst of energy
I am so there Ali, I need to get Amanda's cell phone number :-)
We love Food Network. I think Guy was fun to watch on the Food Network Challenge (I think Burger). But my most favorite host is Alton Brown. He's so smart and whitty. Right now there's a four part series called Feasting on Waves. He's sailing around all the Carribean islands and getting "authentic" food.
