On A Whim!

The fun begins with a trip to the zoo. The hats and "leashes" stayed on for about 3 more minutes after this picture was taken. Anna HATED the animals. She was not impressed with any sounds they made, or the smells they produced either. :-)Me and Tom Cruise (isn't he, Grant, a dreamy boy?)
Good ol' Nana. My mom is such a good sport. We all squished in this tiny little train car. Nana is always making memories!
Delicious, huge, sticky suckers.
Leah is totally intense.
Raychel actually dropped her first sucker before she even got a lick. Nana promptly went in the store and bought her another...thanks nana!

This is a cute little park across the street from the zoo. This is the only picture I have because there were some majorly bratty kids there that day. I had to protect my young. :-) Don't go messin' with my kids!!

We were spontaneous the whole weekend! After the zoo, we went to the mall. A mall that was complete with a carousel. Raychel was in heaven! She refused to get off. I'm serious...refused. My poor mom kept shelling out the dollar bills to keep her riding (I am too mean to keep paying). Anyway, I was trying every possible bribe I could think of to get her off the horse peacefully. I look over and see my opportunity. Libby Lu. Ever heard of that store? Well, it's everything pink, glitter, Hannah Montana, and more glitter. My eye catches a sign: Free Ear Piercing. That was the ticket. She agreed to get off for some ear piercing. She picked her own earrings. Pink rhinestones. Her tears were only brief. She loves "growing up."
Starting the freak out.

My darling little bottle babies. They loved the hotel. The phone was the favoritepart of the experience.

We checked out Old Town Sacramento. Raychel was dying to go on a carriage ride. Who knew she was so into horses? I think we may have to plan a birthday activity of riding a real horse...

Once we got loaded in the car for our trek home, Raychel says "I want to ride the horse at Macy's again." My mom (always the soft nana) said if she was good on the ride home, we would stop at Boomtown to ride the carousel. Well, she took a nap, and as promised we stopped at Boomtown. My mom noticed that Raychel just has a glow in her eyes when she rides. She feels "magical."
Nana rode that carousel probably 19 times!

The Meanest Mom of the Year Award goes to: ME! This little apparatus bounces you up and down causing you to get that "lose your stomach feeling." Raychel went first and LOVED it. She was giggling the whole time. Of course Anna and Leah beg to go as well. I knew Anna would hate it, but I let her go anyway. What makes me SO mean is the fact that I was laughing so hard watching Anna's face. Laughing to the point of tears. Yes, mean, I know. :-)

Anna seriously looked like she was going to puke at the end...poor baby!

Def Lepard. What comes to your mind when you hear any song from that band?
Perms.
Mullets.
Permed Mullets.
Aqua Net aerosol hairspray.
Layers upon layers of wet n’ wild black eyeliner.
Muscle shirts.
Cut offs.
Cameros.
Ah, the 80’s may they rest in peace and never again be reborn! With all of that being said, Def Lepard’s Rock of Ages is a staple in our car for road trips. Anna and Leah LOVE this song. They sit in the very back and bop their heads to the entire 4 minutes and 56 seconds of this rock anthem. It cracks me up! Anyway, this CD is a regular in the rotation of our cd player. What a sight…80’s rock blasting in a mini-van, two little girls with pony tails on the tops of their heads head banging in the back seat. Rad.

This weekend we took off on a girls (no boys allowed, except for Grant) weekend. It was totally spontaneous. My mom was recovering from an illness, and we just got this wild hare to do something…different. Out of curiosity we checked priceline.com and got a phenomenal deal on a hotel room. It was meant to be. My girls are so lucky to have such a cool Nana (and uncle too!) to do fun things with.

Brian and I are cracking up over your latest entries. Of course he's a Def Lepard fan.... straight out of the 80's, except for the mullet.

Your trip looks like a blast! What fun! The picture of Anna on the ride were so funny! I would have been laughing too. Can't believe little Raychel has her ears pierced! How is she doing with them? Are they bothering her? I guess after all she's been through a couple of little holes in her ears are probably a piece of cake.

Wow, that looks like you had fun. WE need to go there. Love Def Leppard. Love that the girls love Def Leppard. Love that Grant is wearing Total Top Gun glasses! I can't believe those things are back in style! What has this world come to?

since you post so many pictures, you should download Picasa(from google). It makes picture collages. Like 9 in a square. It gets a lot of picutes on your blog without having to scroll down for a mile.
