I just want to say I love my little bro! He's just an all around GOOD kid. Yesterday, was the high school orientation, and I tagged along with my mom to check out the events. We live in scary times, and I know the next 4 years are not going to be easy ones for him.
Today he was scheduled to come and mow my lawn. When he showed up, he asked if it would be OK for him to hang out with us for the day. Apparently he had been invited to hang out with a group of friends who would probably end up doing questionable things, and he didn't want any part of that. I was just bursting with pride. Making little choices like that will make a big difference in the long run. It's interesting to see how life had progressed. When I was 14, I was concerned about my siblings and making sure they were proud of me. Now as I watch Grant mowing my lawn and waving to the girls through the sliding glass window, I'm so glad he is setting the example for them. He is a trail blazer in his own right.
I'm still in awe that he would choose to hang out with his "old" sister as opposed to a group of his peers. Keep up the good work, Grant! You have generations that are watching you, learning from you, wanting to be like you. We sure do love you!
By the way, this is one of his favorite songs right now. I asked him if it would embarrass him if I did this blog, and he said it wouldn't. I assured him that only "old" people read this anyway...ha ha! :-)

I am honored to say that I have known Grant the majority of his life and even as a little boy he was the most well behaved child I had ever met. I am glad he is "keeping it real" and not falling into the pressures of life. He is grown up to be such a handsome fella with the best personality!
Go Grant. That is awesome it is so nice to see kids sticking up for their values.
What a good kid! I sure hope he can continue to stay strong during the "oh so fun" high school years!
Old huh? I guess I DO fall into that category.
How nice to have such a great uncle around for your girls. HS is definitely a scary place, but sounds like he's up to it. You are also so lucky to have him to mow your lawn. That currently falls under my duties most of the time.
