Alaska

The beautiful Alaskan countryside.
Proud Papa! James's monster catch: 80 pound halibut.
Salmon. Notice the two fish on his pinkie fingers.
Enjoying the trip.

Well, we survived an entire week without James/Daddy. We all missed him terribly. No one can twirl Raychel's hair before bed like Daddy can. Things just don't feel complete without him. With that being said, he had a marvelous time fishing in Alaska. He took my dad along for the fun this time. I'm glad my dad captured some of the memories.

It's funny for me to look at these pictures and see James's genuinely happy face. We are so different because I would never have a smile on my face while holding a slimy, cold, stinky, bloody fish. People joke and say, "In my other life I was a..." Well, James was (and still is) John Wayne. Tuff, rugged, and handsome. Thank goodness he can deal with someone like me who is an indoor, city girl.

Maybe that's why we really do click so well..."opposites attract." He can save me from starving to death on the plains by using his excellent hunting skills, and I can save him from bad haircuts and unruly eyebrows. A match made in heaven...ha ha!

Holy smokes that is a big fish, big and gross! Nate thinks it's awesome. Glad you survived the week too. I know how hard it is to be a single parent for the week!

The simple things in life twirling hair and walking on broken glass for his babies. My mom will never forget that and I will admit it put James in a different light. The dry, witty man with a soft side hehe....

You are a lucky girl Ali, you have the perfect family!!!!
