I've got to go off on a tangent for a second, so bear with me. Today was a beautiful afternoon in Carson City. I decided to load the crew in the "beast" and go for a leisurely afternoon stroll. We were interrupted on several occasions by this awful rap music blaring throughout the neighborhood. For an entire block all I heard was "F" this and "F" that. It was that angry, mean, yelling rap. When I walked by the house it was coming from, I saw a group of 14 year old boys sitting in their garage, playing video games, and listening to this crap. In my head I thought "where on earth are you parents and why are they letting you listen to this?!" Raychel is like all offended "Mom! What is that 'newsic'?!" Ha ha!
We walk on. We turn the corner to come home and one of my neighbors pulls up to his house blasting this same kind of "music" in his car. Mind you he has 3 little girls riding their bikes outside hearing this vulgar language. Then it hit me...those boys in the garage probably got that CD from their parents!
I am not a prude. I love good music. I love to dance around and have fun. I do not like hearing such derogatory, crude lyrics especially when I have my 3 innocent babies with me! Just a little respect is all I ask.
Phew...I feel much better now!

Thats just boils my blood. I had a similar situation today also. I came outside to load the kids up into the car and guess what. Three ladies in their mid thirties were hanging out in the middle of our driveway smoking and making crude gestures and remarks about my "Truth Restored Mormon.org" Bumper sticker. When they saw me come outside with my boys all they did was laugh at my face. I asked if hey wouldnt mind smoking somewhere else and not on my driveway and then I kept walking and put the kids in the car as they stayed there and kept smoking and laughing at me. what are we in 5t grade again. give me a brake. im sorry your little girls had to hear that kinda music. I look at it that its just the start of many awful things our kids will see and its up to us to explain it and teach them the right way.
We'll see who's laughing when it's all said and done!
